Brown bins - what do you think?

Brown bins have now arrived in some parts of Ashton for a trial period. You can put the following in these bins:

Any glass

Empty food and drink cans

Empty food and drink tins

Aerosols

Plastic bottles

Margarine and yoghurt pots.

I would be interested in comments about these bins from residents who are part of this trial.

Nigel, I'm not part of the trial (used to live in Ashton) and I think they're great. Where I live we only have a small blue box to put 2 weeks' worth of recyclables in so I'd kill for one of those.
The downside to them of course is for people who live in terraces and could end up with three bins resembling all the colours of the rainbow underneath their front window...

We have'nt got them yet but think they are a brilliant idea as our bin is always full after a couple of days and this would seriously reduce our waste. Can anybody tell me when the spring view area is due to get them please?
