I attended the official opening of the Childrens Sure Start Centre in Ashton Library last Saturday. It was good to see so many parents and children attending the event and enjoying the activivties that were laid on by the staff.
For those who don't know Sure Start Children’s Centres (for children under 5 years old and their families) are part of the previous Labour government's initiative to give every child the best possible start in life. Each Children’s Centre has a range of services and a wealth of information that families can access to help improve their lives, their children’s lives and benefit their community.
